Hands on Learning

Learning engineering by doing engineering.

Iron Range Engineering has access to a variety of equipment and software that students are able to access in their experience with us. Students use these resources in their projects with real industry clients as well as for technical courses and some personal projects. Check out some of the resources available to students below.

CNC milling and manual milling options plus all the tooling to use it. The part is in there, you just gotta find it.

Hand Tools and Power Tools

A ton of hand tools and power tools to learn how to use or to utilize in design projects or course activities.

Waterjet

Cut through anything and everything, a great tool for learning CNC operations and very quick at cutting out parts.

3D Printing/Laser Engraving

There is always a 3D printer waiting for you to tell it what to create. Laser engravers as well to engrave and cut a ton of materials.

Electronics

Function generators, soldering stations, oscilloscopes, resistors, and more for learning the electrical world.

Welding and Fabricating

Welder and plasma cutter as well as space to burn and merge.

Additional Equipment and Software

IRE also has virtual and augmented reality stations, vinyl cutting, Solidworks, CorelDraw, and all sorts of other software and tooling combos to bring what is in our engineers' minds into reality.

And a Makerspace!!!
