How our Partnerships Work

Industry partnerships play a key role at IRE, and give students the chance to work on real engineering problems in our region and beyond. These projects allow students to apply technical knowledge and teamwork to solve problems, as well as gain a better understanding of the roles engineers play in industry. These projects are typically 1 to 2 semester's long.

Every semester, IRE works with 10-12 companies to offer industry projects. Interested in becoming an industry partner?  Find out more by contacting us at info@ire.minnstate.edu.

The project poster on the left is an example of a past industry project. Students are assigned the project at the beginning of the semester and go through multiple design iterations before presenting to their client.
