The IRE ModelIron Range Engineering (IRE) students complete their pre-engineering coursework at community colleges across the country (including Minnesota North). They then complete a 1-semester experience called the Bell Academy during their junior year, followed by two years of working in engineering internships and co-ops while taking their classes in the evenings.

Iron Range Engineering (IRE) is a full Bachelor's Degree program located in Virginia, MN focused on developing you into the engineer you wish to be. IRE is split into a lower division (Freshman and Sophomore years) and upper division (Junior and Senior years). Our program is made possible through a variety of partnerships. The lower division program is ran through Minnesota North-Mesabi and the upper division program is ran through Minnesota State University, Mankato.
