How to apply to Iron Range Engineering

Iron Range Engineering (IRE) is a full 4 year Bachelor's Degree program located in Virginia, MN. IRE is split into a lower division and upper division. The following is a guide for applying to either lower or upper division. Follow the prompts, and the team will get back to you soon. Looking forward to meeting you!

Step 1: Information Form
Please fill out the information form using the link above to start the process of applying. This form is the same for anyone applying to Iron Range Engineering.
Step 2: Apply to ICC
STEP 2 Years 1-2: Apply at Itasca Community College online. 
Because our program is Located in Virginia Minnesota, you will need to choose the correct program major during the application process.
A. Step through the application questions.
B.  Once you get to the section labeled "Major" be sure to choose  "On Site" for the Delivery Method, "Engineering -IRE" for the Desired Major.  
C. Continue through the rest of the application process.  Be sure to hit submit at the end.

Step 2: Apply to MSU
STEP 2 Years 3-4: Apply at Minnesota State University Mankato online. 
Because our program is Located in Virginia Minnesota, you will need to choose the correct program major during the application process.
A. Step through the application questions.
B.  Once you get to the section labeled "Major" be sure to choose  "Off Site" for the Delivery Method, "Intergrated Engineering" for the Desired Major.  
C. Continue through the rest of the application process.  Be sure to hit submit at the end.

Step 3: Apply for Financial Aid
  • For year 1 and 2 students, be sure to choose Itasca Community College as your institution. ​
  • For year 3 and 4 students, be sure to choose Minnesota State University Mankato as your institution. ​
Step 4: Register for Classes
You will be contacted via email regarding registration dates.
